Amlodipine can help to lower your pets blood pressure quickly and he/she should start to feel better. If a dose is missed, the blood pressure will increase again so it is important to give medication continually. What form(s) does Amlodipine come in? This medication is available as a tablet. Generic Name: Amlodipine Besylate (Common Drug Name) Common Brand Name: Norvasc Dose and Administration: Give Amlodipine by mouth according to your veterinarians specific instructions. Try to give medication with food if possible. It is important to give all scheduled doses of medication or your pets condition can deteriorate. If you happen to miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember but never give two doses at once. Give this medication only to the pet it has been prescribed for. If you are unsure of how to use this medication correctly, contact your veterinarian. Uses: Amlodipine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in dogs and cats.
